Ivy was at the Veterinarians office when we got the call she needed help. She had an IV catheter in her arm and was seconds away from being euthanized. Fortunately her doctor is a close friend of the Handover Rover family, and called us before any action was taken.
As it turns out, Ivy’s previous owners never taught her “yes/no” and the consequence for bad behavior was giving her treats, to distract her. They said she was highly leash reactive and they could no longer handle her.
Ultimately, they were rewarding her “bad” behavior without realizing it. And the result for her doing what they asked was death.
Ivy has been trained to walk well and behave on a leash. She loves other dogs and people. She is a typical lovely lab.
